Being hopeful is a painful way to live. It’s easier to assume everything will always stay the same, never get better, than to take a chance that things might change.

Never blame someone for not loving you the way you want to be loved, as these imperfect relationships teach us to seek out loving ourselves in a way we would have never otherwise discovered. We have to feel the frustration and desperation of longing long enough to drive us to look for every source of love outside of ourselves until we have no choice but to begin to look inward. It is only then that we can begin to do the real work of healing. So be grateful for those who have broken your heart as they have planted a sign post in your aching for you to turn towards the only true source of love there ever was, and ever will be. You, and your own incredible heart.

The sun is always rising somewhere
-
You are key to the waking up of the world, by being brave enough to follow the pull of your heart towards your own personal greatness
-
We cannot discover new oceans unless we have the courage to lose sight of the shore.
-
You must bring the light you are to everything you do. Whether that means holding your light up in places of darkness, or adding it’s brilliance to something already shining
-
Give up your wanting,
Your need to be good.
Give up your desire to have the right answers,
And your longing to know what’s coming
Slow down and let the compass of your heart re-orient you.
Trust that the True North of your being is calling you home.
That you are never lost when you are with yourself where you are.
It is no great crime to not know, to not have any answers for anyone.
The only crime is to run from what is trying to open up
Inside of you in any given moment.
To shut it down before it has a chance to breathe,
Unfurl,
And reveal itself to you.
Be still and feel the way your heart beats
With such surety that
You are meant to be here.

You live in the House you build
So build with intention, build with patience, build with a sense of what you want it to look and feel like in the end. Be willing to rip it all down if you wake up one day and realize you’re building with the wrong plan in mind. Be willing to open your eyes and see where the walls contain you, what freedom the doors and windows grant you.
Be willing to leave behind what was once a home and set off for greener pastures and a quiet space to name your own. Where you can again begin to build something that follows the blue print of your heart. Know that somewhere out there exists a monument to what you had, who you were, what you created, but that it is not your home anymore.
Determine who enters and how, and where they’re allowed to go. Honour the complexity of renovations. Build the home you love, not the one you think you should have, not the one someone else thinks you should build with them. Build a place where it’s safe to be you. Safe to ponder all your mystery, and where all of you is welcome -
I’m proud of the person I am becoming.
